Mikhail Chekalin composed and performed the music on this record for the first time on an exclusive model of a new experimental MAHAVOX synthesizer (an original Russian original patent).
This original prototype synthesizer is configured so that it does not have a traditional keyboard comprised of black and white keys. Instead, the keys are replaced by slender strips of aluminum, which act as a triggering mechanism making a nontemporal connection when touched by warm human fingertips.

The sound produced is quite different from the traditional musical scale. The new MAHAVOX instrument produces a unique and unconventional combination of scales within a highly diverse frequency range.
His new composition, MAHAVOX Symphony, takes Chekalin’s Post-Symphonic Music style into a new realm of Futuristic 21st Century electronic sound. It is a remarkable recording and testament to the visionary creative spirit Chekalin’s music has embodied since he began recording decades ago.

All music was composed, performed and recorded live in real time by Mikhail Chekalin. No sequencer or digital technology was used.

…Chekalin's Music is like Shostakovich, for the Electronica Generation!

about

Mikhail Chekalin / Михаил Чекалин Moscow, Russia

Mikhail Chekalin is one of those. Arguably he is the most influential modern composer of the last 35 years in the former USSR, now Russia.
Over the span of his career Chekalin has produced some 30+ works that range the sonic spectrum for Post Pop, to free-jazz, electronic, and Post Symphonic. While his music was known to me since the 1980s/
